Favourite Worst NightmareRelease Date : 23/04/07 (UK) Favourite Worst Nightmare is the second studio album from Arctic Monkeys. It was first released in Japan on 18 April 2007 before being released around the world. Recorded in East London's Miloco Studios with producers James Ford and Mike Crossey, the album was preceded by the release of new single 'Brianstorm' on 16 April 2007. In its first week following release the album sold over 220,000 copies, emulating Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not in going straight to number one in the UK Albums Chart, albeit selling 100,000 copies fewer than their record-breaking debut.

Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm NotRelease Date : 23/01/06 (UK) The Debut album release by the band was critically acclaimed and changed the face of Indie music in the UK for ever. Famously sporting the face of Chris McClure smoking a cigarette, the album became the fastest selling debut rock album in British history, selling just under 120,000 copies on it's first day! By the end of the week, the album had sold 363,735 copies - more than the rest of the Top 20 combined. The original release date for this album was the 30th of January but due to the album being leaked over a month before the release date, it was released earlier, it still managed to hit the number one spot comfortably.

Teddy PickerRelease Date : 03/12/07 (UK) 'Teddy Picker' is the Arctic Monkeys third single from their second album Favourite Worst Nightmare. It was released on December 3, 2007 in the United Kingdom. The song entered the UK singles chart at number 20. It remained only one week in the top 40 staying in this position, making it the lowest charting single for the band so far.

Fluorescent AdolescentRelease Date : 09/07/07 (UK) 'Fluorescent Adolescent' is the second single to be taken from 'Favourite Worst Nightmare' . The lyrical narration is supported by a striking video directed by Richard Ayoade (The IT Crowd/Nathan Barley) , starring Stephen 'Scummy Man' Graham (Snatch/Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels) and a rather scary bunch of clowns. BrianstormRelease Date : 16/04/07 (UK) Brianstorm is the opening track on their second album, Favourite Worst Nightmare. The song was released as the first single from that album on 2 April 2007, debuting at #11 in the UK Singles Chart via downloads alone. The single was released in physical formats on 16 April, the week before the release of the album, and charted at #2 in the UK Singles Chart behind Beyoncé' and Shakira's 'Beautiful Liar.' It is the band's fourth single in the United Kingdom, following number ones 'I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor', and 'When the Sun Goes Down', as well as the non-album track 'Leave Before the Lights Come On'. The song was noticeably louder and heavier than previous efforts, marking the band's evolved sound. It is their highest charting single worldwide.

Leave Before The Lights Come OnRelease Date : 14/08/06 (UK) The third UK single release by the band. Leave Before The Lights Come On was the first Arctic Monkeys single not to hit number one. Peaking at #4 in the UK singles chart this was still a successful single by the band. The two b-sides also featured 2 covers of other artists' songs. The Little Flames' 'Put Your Dukes Up John' was a big hit with the f ans aswell as the mellow harmonies of Barbara Lewis' Baby I'm Yours which was originally released in 1965.

When The Sun Goes DownRelease Date : 16/01/06 (UK) A story written into a song. Scummy man continued the mad rise to fame for the band. Released just before the album (which was brought forward a week) it was the second single to snatch the number one spot for the band. Oticon genie software free download. I Bet You Look Good On The DancefloorRelease Date : 17/10/05 (UK) The first ever 'proper' release by the band. It hit number one in it's first week of sales aswell as confirming just how large a fanbase they had. The single was also covered by the sugababes as a b-side on their track Red Dress.

Who the Fuck Are Arctic Monkeys?Release Date : 24/04/06 (UK) The second EP release by the Arctic Monkeys. The 5-track EP was released to satisfy the fans while touring the UK and the rest of the world. Although the lead track 'The View From The Afternoon' was anticipated as the second single, it was released on this which was too big to qualify as a single and too small to class as an album. But then again, anticipation has a habit to set you up for disappointment.

Five Minutes with the Arctic MonkeysRelease Date : 30/05/05 (UK) The first ever release by the band. It was limited to around 1000 copies on CD and 250 7' copies. Released on the bands own label 'Bang Bang Records' it charted just outside the top 40. When the band became famous, the limited edition EP went on to sell for over £500 on ebay.

Live At The ApolloRelease Date : 3/11/08 (UK) Arctic Monkeys Live at the Apollo is a live album and video release by Arctic Monkeys of the final concert of their 2007 world-tour, filmed in Manchester, England. It was filmed on 35mm film and in surround-sound. It was directed by Richard Ayoade and photographed by cinematographer Danny Cohen (This Is England). It was edited by Nick Fenton (Heima), and produced by Diarmid Scrimshaw (Dead Man's Shoes). It has been awarded best music DVD 2009 by the NME

Scummy ManRelease Date : 10/4/06 (UK) Scummy Man is a short film, written and directed by Paul Fraser and produced by Mark Herbert and Diarmid Scrimshaw, based on the song 'When the Sun Goes Down' by the Arctic Monkeys, and released on DVD on 10 April 2006 by Domino Records. The film, like the song, focuses on prostitution in Sheffield, and uses the same actors as the music video to document a night in the life of the fictional 'Nina', a 15 year old drug addict who works as a prostitute in the Neepsend district. |
