Thomas Doherty (born 21 April 1995)[1] is a Scottish actor and singer, known for his roles as Sean Matthews on the Disney Channel musical series The Lodge and Harry Hook in the Descendants film franchise.
Early life[edit]
Doherty was born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland. He has an older brother and younger sister, and his parents were both in the banking business.[2]

Doherty attended Royal High School in Edinburgh.[3] After high school, Doherty attended The MGA Academy of Performing Arts in Edinburgh, Scotland.[4] He graduated after studying music theatre at MGA Academy in July 2015 and immediately signed a contract with Olivia Bell Management in London.[5] Doherty was trained in acting, singing, and various types of dance including contemporary, hip hop, jazz, tap and ballet.
Career[edit]
After graduating from The MGA Academy of Performing Arts in the summer of 2015, Doherty began waiting tables in Edinburgh at Tigerlilly restaurant.[3] On his days off, Doherty split his time between auditioning for The Lodge and working with the Edinburgh Fringe.[6] Doherty was offered the role of Sean Matthews in The Lodge, and had to undergo intensive training in mountain biking to prepare for the role.[7]The Lodge was filmed in Belfast, Northern Ireland.[8][9] While Doherty's character is Scottish, Doherty focused on toning down his accent in order to better accommodate the viewers in all 108 countries that The Lodge aired in.[6] In December 2016, The Lodge was renewed for a second series which began production in February 2017.[10]

In 2016, Doherty auditioned for Descendants 2 and was cast as Harry Hook, the son of villain, Captain James Hook, from Peter Pan.[6]Descendants 2 was filmed in Vancouver, Canada in 2016 and aired on Disney Channel on 21 July 2017.[11] He reprised his role as Harry Hook in the third installment of the Disney Channel franchise, Descendants 3 which premiered in 2019.[12]
In August 2017, Doherty was named one of the 50 fittest boys in the world by Vogue magazine.[13] From 2019 to 2020, he appeared in the CW series Legacies as Sebastian.[14] Then in March 2020, it was announced that Doherty is set to star in the upcoming HBO Max teen drama Gossip Girl.[15]

We've been rooting for Emma Swan and Captain Hook to get together on Once Upon A Time for a full season now (well, at least until that whole 'cursed lips' drama happened) but what about the woman behind the savior? Once Upon a Time Actress Jennifer Morrison may play the ultimate independent woman on Once Upon A Time, but much like her character, she hasn't been solo forever — even if she currently is now.So who has our lovely Once Upon A Time heroine connected with off-screen? Just like Ginnifer Goodwin (who plays Emma's mother Snow White and is welcoming her first child with husband Josh Dallas) Morrison has dated one of her co-stars on the ABC fantasy drama. Morrison and Sebastian Stan, who played Jeffrey the 'Mad Hatter' on the show, dated in real life for about a year. Sources say that the two simply 'grew apart,' and, luckily for both of them, they didn't have to suffer through any awkward exes/co-star tensions due to Stan's limited role on the series. (Not that we aren't a little bummed about that — who didn't love Stan's crazy-eyed, misunderstood Mad Hatter?)
It wasn't the first time Morrison dated a co-star. Morrison and her House co-star Jesse Spencer made Cameron/Chase shippers freak out when Morrison and Spencer began dating after sparks flew on the set of the Fox drama. Unfortunately, their onscreen romance mirrored their off-screen one. Morrison and Spencer called off their engagement in 2007 after dating for three years, and their characters on the show filed for divorce after an insanely dramatic plot which involved Chase murdering a senator. (Sometimes these things happen. Usually they just happen on Scandal .)
Currently Morrison seems to be doing very well solo. Not only is she kicking (magical) ass on Once Upon A Time, but she just wrapped up her role on How I Met Your Mother(bye, Zoey), starred as Winona Kirk in Star Trek: Into Darkness ,andtook on the indie film world in Some Girl(s) alongside Adam Brody, the current husband of her ex-boyfriend Sebastian Stan's ex-girlfriend Leighton Meester. (Yeah, it's complicated.)
So who needs a guy? Right now it doesn't look like Morrison does — and neither does her magical counterpart. (Though let's be honest, if she does, she can always call up Captain Hook, am I right or am I right?.) These ladies are doing more than fine without the arm candy.
